Automobiles in Germany's City Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Officers stated they were alerted by a man who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Approximately fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.

Officers say they were notified late on Wednesday, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish liquid.

The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they added.

Officers then discovered many other marked automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state early analysis indicate the fluid was most likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; officials are not yet cognizant of any harm in association with the incident," they added.

City officials announced they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the community for details.

An important representative said the vandalism left him without words and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a gunman aiming at people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
