Brian Eno Encourages Public Help to Send Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A charity drive is aiming to propel a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The campaign hopes to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Possibility for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely let down if it fails to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's powerful central theme.

“It occupies a very special place for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded after a solidarity show held in the autumn. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the piece was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The notable list of artists appearing on Lullaby includes a range of prominent voices from the music world. All participated in the benefit event, which successfully generated a significant sum for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was produced by a trio of producers and composers. The song showcases a mix of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The team running the campaign have stated that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These proceeds will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a figure said. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the territory was characterized as its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of infrastructure described as destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is above all making this cause better known and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
