Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Claims Involving Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the league office.
The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, shared a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. Jones did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver missed the initial part of this season following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
