Former Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities report that a former physician stands accused of carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.

A senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Breakdown of Offences

Prosecutors said the 45 charges comprise:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Police are urging anyone with concerns to get in touch with the investigating team.
